Current Needs
Sales Consultant
Thanks to our rapid growth, we nearly have more calls for quotes and orders than we can handle. A seasoned computer equipment sales professional is required immediately, for work both inside and outside of our offices. Inside sales, education and government bidding, corporate quote generation, order tracking, problem resolution, and ensuring customer satisfaction are the primary responsibilites of this position, with outside sales and special projects to be assigned as required.
The successful candidate will have at least five years of experience in selling computer products to all markets, with emphasis on large corporate clients. The candidate must provide references verifying a history of consistent financial performance and customer satisfaction. Compensation for this position is open, with a salary+commission structure that rewards real performance.
Windows NT Networking Consultant
This position requires an individual intimately knowledgable of Microsoft's networking methods. Many of our clients are interested in deploying enterprise-scale NT networks, but do not have the knowledge or expertise to implement them successfully. We are asked to meet with their representatives, discuss the options, agree on a design and performance levels, then implement the solution. A strong working knowledge of TCP/IP, the Internet, and solutions to connect users to it is required.
The ideal candidtate will have a firm grasp of networking concepts and theory, such as protocols, media, bridges, and routers. Knowing how these affect and limit the behavior of an operating system is crucial to successful solutions. Must have at least 5 years of direct interaction with networking products on LANs and WANs and at least 3 years of direct design and configuration of Windows networks. Microsoft or Novell certification is desired, but not required. Most work is in the Houston metro area, but overnight travel up to a week is a real possibility and should be expected.
NetWare Networking Consultant
A strong technical background in Novell products is required for this opportunity. Although we seldom encounter NetWare older than 2.2, it is important to know where NetWare came from and how it works inside and out. Practical knowledge of how it interacts with other operating systems is vital, as we are frequently asked to support NetWare-to-host or NetWare-to-gateway functions. A deep understanding of version 4.11 and NDS is paramount.
The successful candidate will have experience with at least two Red Box products. A strong working knowledge of TCP/IP, the Internet, and solutions to connect users to it is required. Must have at least 5 years of direct interaction with networking products and at least 3 years of direct design and configuration of NetWare networks. Compaq Technical Engineer
As an Authorized Compaq Reseller and Service Center, we maintain very high standards in our service department. Complete knowledge of the entire range of Compaq products is a must, including the Netelligent line. File servers are a large part of our business, and we frequently configure new servers in our office before shipping. Warranty repairs on all Compaq products is performed at our location, and this position will require Compaq certification.
The successful candidate will have experience with networking operating systems, preferably NetWare and Windows NT. Must have at least 5 years of direct interaction with personal computer hardware and at least 3 years of direct experience troubleshooting all manner of problems with the entire Compaq product line. Compaq certification is desired, and must be achieved within 30 days of hire. Much work is done in our office, but field work and overnight travel up to three days is a real possibility and should be expected.
Customer Service Specialist
Each customer that contacts CBSS expects the level of performance enjoyed by all of our clients. As our company grows, so does our reliance on organized individuals to help coordinate and execute implementation plans. Each project may have different components, and tracking of both time and materials is crucial. Production of reports, schedules, price quotes, and assisting with various tasks will be regular responsibilities.
The successful candidate will understand and have experience in the computer industry. Proficiency in office skills and working with materials management including part numbers, descriptions, technical documentation, and quoted pricing is required. Initial customer contact via visits, telephone, and E-Mail will be routed to this individual, and appropriate dress and demeanor are mandatory.
